Eden Arts, a Cumbria based arts organisation dedicated to creating and facilitating change through culture and arts activities, commissioned the international art collective, NCNC, to create a unique film inspired and created on the streets of Middlesbrough.
NCNC (Nuovo Cinema Neo Cinetico), are an international group of artists, screenwriters and actors from across the globe. In 2023 they immersed themselves in everyday life in Middlesbrough. The resulting unique piece of film based on Middlesbrough is called Legal Alien and takes place on Sunday 29th September 2024 at Middlesbrough Town Hall. The work combines cinema, photography, visual arts, and live performance to tell this unique story.
Legal Alien is a love story and follows the two Aliens who have been banished from their planet. Whilst living on Earth they are separated but will they reunite?
NCNC worked closely with the international communities in Middlesbrough bringing people together to celebrate and learn from their shared heritage through cultural appreciation .
