Amy D’Cruze

Amy D’Cruze is currently working towards a bachelor's degree in fine art. They have a passion for curating and making galleries inclusive spaces for wider communities. As a student from a working-class background, Amy explores audience interaction through performance art. For them, it is vital that art and educational spaces are more than silent rooms, white walls, and grand structures.

Recently, she collaborated with the MIMA gallery and other emerging artists to organize an event called Dragging Through Clay. She took on the lead role, working alongside MIMA staff to organize her first drag show, which involved active participation from members of the audience.

“As a working-class artist from Liverpool, my passion for storytelling drives my creative journey. I love weaving narratives that go beyond my personal experiences to include the stories of people I meet.

My approach to art is fluid and flexible, not confined by traditional methods. I let the story determine the medium, whether it's performance, sculpture, animation, or any other form that fits. I'm always exploring new ways to express my ideas, eager to discover fresh possibilities.

In essence, my art showcases the limitless power of imagination and my strong desire to bring my visions to life. Each piece is a new chapter in an ongoing story, inviting audiences to join me in a journey of discovery, reflection, and connection.”
