Legendary broadcaster, curator and DJ, Mary Anne Hobbs returns to Middlesbrough, alongside an expanded network of art & music mentors for a new edition of Scaffolding Sessions at Middlesbrough Art Week. These intimate mentoring workshops are designed to support artists, musicians, and creatives at all stages of their journey. Listening to, and making space for participants is central to the framework of these sessions, with mentors available to share insights from their experiences across art, music and culture, offering guidance on creative development, career pathways, and the courage it takes to build something new.

Whether you are just starting out or looking for a fresh perspective, this is a rare chance to learn, ask questions, and find inspiration with a collection of distinct voices in art and music.

There will be 12 places available across three sessions on Saturday, 27th September in Middlesbrough, each with a different permutation of mentors. Registration and participation is free and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is in-person, and selected participants can confirm or offer their place back to the waiting list.

Location: Middlesbrough (we will share the location with confirmed participants from the registration)
