Clifford Hindmarsh
Clifford Hindmarsh was born in South Bank in Middlesbrough, he now lives in Eston also in Middlesbrough where he gathers inspiration for his current series of paintings.
Hindmarsh creates figurative art and portraits and works with oil and acrylic. He paints from his environment and is inspired by his local surroundings. Clifford also creates portraits from photos sent to him. Hindmarsh joined the Royal Navy at 16 and one of his duties was a Naval Spotter, sketching ship's and aircraft during 'mock battles'. He also worked in British Steel for many years and during his breaks would sketch workers during their daily tasks.
Exhibitions include James Finegans Hall, Eston(1984), Redcar & Cleveland Civic & Learning Centre, Eston (2005), Eston Arts Centre (2022).
