About the Show.

The North East Open Call is Middlesbrough Art Week's flagship platform for artists living in, or connected to, the region. Championing ambitious contemporary practice across all disciplines, the exhibition celebrates the breadth, diversity and vitality of the North East's creative community. Rather than responding to a prescribed theme, artists are invited to present work that reflects their current practice, creating an exhibition that captures a moment in contemporary art across the region. Alongside the exhibition, selected artists receive professional development, studio visits, mentoring and networking opportunities, reinforcing Middlesbrough Art Week's commitment to supporting artists beyond exhibition-making.
